Vision Truck Group is hiring a Shipper/Receiver to support our Parts Department in Brampton, Ontario. We hold a strong commitment to our employees and place their development, training, and well-being as key to our success. Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Shipper/Receiver will support the Parts Department by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments of truck parts.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping Duties:

  • Ensure outgoing products are as stated on invoices and are in good, sell-able condition.
  • Load trucks for parts deliveries as required.
  • Create delivery driver routes in our Elite Extra parts delivery software package.
  • Package and skid all shipments that will be delivered by our Parts delivery team.
  • Ensure all paperwork and bills of lading are filled out completely and accurately.
  • Operate forklift or use hand truck to move, convey shipments from Shipping-Receiving, storage or work area onto Parts Delivery vehicles or trailers.

  

Receiving Duties:

  • Count and/or measure all incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices and/or packing slips.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with the inventory group to rectify/claim for damages and shortages.
  • Operate forklift or use hand truck to move shipments from the shipping-receiving area to a storage or work area.
  • Post received items into our Karmak Fusion inventory and print receiving reports.
  • Review receiving reports against bills of lading, invoices and/or packing slips to ensure accurate posting.
  • Ensure all parts that remain in the building have a proper bin location and location entered in Karmak Fusion.
  • Put stock away in the proper bin location.
  • Process other locations inter-branch parts requests.
  • Work with the Inventory Control team.
  • Assist with bin maintenance and cycle counts when required.
  • Comply with requirements as outlined in the OHSA, WHMIS company handbook and all other company issued memos and policies including proper use of appropriate PPE. Follow business code of ethics and communicate to team.
  • Maintain Shipping receiving area for cleanliness.
  • Other duties as assigned by management from time to time.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a shipping/receiving role.
  • Experience operating a forklift, pump cart; counterbalance forklift experience is an asset; forklift certificate an asset; tow motor forklift certificate an asset.
  • Completion of Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid G Driver’s License and a good driving record.
  • Heavy lifting required throughout shift.
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal required.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Drivers Abstract.

 

Salary: $19 per hour with a bump to $22.50 upon probationary pass, and then $26 after 3 years.  Annual increases are included (COL).

Shifts: Monday-Friday, 7:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
